Temperatures for October averaged 6 to 15 degrees above normal. In fact, it felt more like early September for much of the month.

A strong cold front late in the month finally dropped daily temperatures below normal for a few days.

As far as precipitation, much of the northern and western portions of the state were drier than normal, as expected.

On the other hand, south-central and southeastern portions of the state had precipitation closer to normal, thanks to a slow-moving storm the second half of the month.

As for November, temperatures should remain a few degrees above normal.
