Nancy was born on February 27, 1956, in San Francisco.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston University in 1982—graduating at the top of her class—she returned to San Francisco. In 1989 Nancy and her family moved toSan Rafael, where she had grown up and where she spent the rest of her life.
Nancy began her nursing career at Pacific Presbyterian Hospital (now California Pacific Medical Center). She went on to found Health Care Connection, LLC, in Marin County. For over 30 years, her organization provided elder care services with warmth, dignity, and integrity—touching countless lives in the community.
Nancy dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others—her patients, friends, and family. She always put the needs of others first and was a beautiful, thoughtful, caring and compassionate person. Her life was also filled with joy. Nancy loved the outdoors and enjoyed Marin’s beautiful beaches. She loved music and especially enjoyed attending concerts with her friends and family. Nancy was also a lifelong sports fan. She particularly loved the San Francisco Giants and supported the 49ers and Warriors. Nancy prized time spent with friends and family, and was a source of strength and kindness to all who knew her.
Nancy was a true animal lover and adored playing with and caring for her dogs Harpo, Rusty, and, most recently, Charlie.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Julian “Pete” Mack; sons William and Robert Mack; daughter-in-law Miranda Dean; granddaughter Naomi Sarah Mack; mother Sarah Reilly; brother John Reilly; sisters Mary Beth Reilly, Margret Didier, and Kathryn Reilly Wardell, and her English cream retriever Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, an organization she deeply believed in.
Nancy leaves a legacy of care, love, and generosity that will live on in those she served and those who loved her.
She will be deeply missed.
