It’s a reunion 35 years in the making, thanks to mayonnaise.
More than three decades after the romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally ...” first hit theaters, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are finally back together.
Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of their movie, Crystal and Ryan returned to Katz’s Deli in New York City to re-create one of the film’s most famous scenes, where the floors were still greasy, the commotion was still loud, and, well, the orgasms were still very fake.
Seated together at the same table where they filmed that 1989 meal, Crystal and Ryan have re-created the iconic moment from rom-com cinema for a Hellmann’s mayonnaise commercial that will air during next month’s Super Bowl.
Speaking to CNN, the duo revealed that they never thought they’d have a “When Harry Met Sally ...” reunion. But then the ad came along.
In the commercial, Ryan, in character as Sally, is overcome with excitement, to say the least, when she takes a bite of her turkey sandwich with mayonnaise.
Ryan said she is excited for fans to learn that Harry and Sally are still together all these years later.
“I don’t know that they intended it, but what we like about it is that you’re inside a little bit of their happily after ever,” Ryan said.
Rihanna appears in court during A$AP Rocky’s trial
Rihanna appeared for the first time at the trial of her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, on the day of its most important testimony — the description by a former friend of the moment Rocky allegedly fired a gun at him.
The singer superstar, who has two toddler sons with rapper Rocky, sat out of view of the courtroom’s cameras, between Rocky’s mother and sister, in the downtown Los Angeles criminal courthouse. Security brought her in surreptitiously to avoid crowds Wednesday morning.
Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, has been standing trial on two felony charges that he fired a handgun at the former friend, known as A$AP Relli. Rihanna watched Wednesday as Relli testified he had been shouting angrily at Rocky, who was walking away after an initial confrontation and scuffle, when Rocky pulled a gun from his waistband and held it in the air.
“He turned around and then it was like BOOM!” he told the jury. “I felt my hand hot,” and later added, “I was hit. Or I was grazed. I didn’t have a hole or nothing.”
