December 1931 - January 12. 2025 San Clemente, CA Donald Burr Prideaux (Don), of San Clemente, CA, passed away January 12, 2025, at the age of 93. Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota until the age of 14, when his family moved to Glendale, California. Don graduated from Glendale High School and attended Glendale Community College before he was activated in the Navy, serving during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier the USS Princeton. After his discharge, Don finished his education at USC with a major in Business Administration, followed by a 40+ year career as a Corporate Accountant.

Don had a lifelong love of boating, owning several boats throughout his life, from a12’ runabout, to his favorite, a 36’ Catalina sailboat, Spindrift II. Don loved to take family and friends out for a sail, and fulfilled a lifelong dream when, in 2010, he sailed Spindrift II in the Newport to Ensenada Yacht Race.

With his wife Janet, he traveled around the USA and abroad, including trips to Hawaii, Japan, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janet; his children, Bill (Robin), Linda (Ray) and John, along with 2 granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren and his brother Roy.

AMemorial Service is set for March 8at1:00 p.m. at St.

Andrew’s By-the-Sea United Methodist Church in San Clemente.
