LINCOLN, Neb. >> Colorado safety Shilo Sanders could be out for a while.

During the Buffaloes’ game at Nebraska on Saturday night, the senior safety left in the first quarter with an injury.

Head coach Deion Sanders, during a halftime interview with NBC, was asked about his son’s health.

“I think broken forearm, something like that, so he won’t be back at all (Saturday night),” Coach Prime said.

That’s a crushing blow for a Buffs defense that relies on Shilo as a leader. He had two tackles in the early going against the Huskers, who took a 28-0 lead into halftime.

Shilo Sanders led CU with 70 tackles in 2023 and he had nine in a season-opening win against North Dakota State.

Also in the first half, linebacker Trevor Woods was ejected for targeting.
