Michael Grimm, who rose to fame after winning season five of “America’s Got Talent,” is reportedly sedated and in intensive care following a mysterious health scare.

According to the singer’s wife, Lucie Zolcerva-Grimm, he was hospitalized on Memorial Day and remains unconscious, although he’s regained the ability to breathe on his own, TMZ reported.

Zolcerva-Grimm said the cause of her husband’s illness was unclear, but that his condition had been deteriorating for a while. He’d been lacking energy and struggling to finish recent performances, she said.

Last month, Grimm became increasingly sick and was rushed to the emergency room when the couple realized he could not lift up his head on his own.

When they arrived at the hospital, Grimm’s wife said his blood pressure rose dramatically and he became incoherent.

He was then rushed to an ICU, where doctors put him on a ventilator. He only recently got off the device and remains sedated.

Zolcerva-Grimm added that most of his upcoming shows in June have been canceled, as he will likely need to undergo extensive physical and vocal therapy even after he hopefully leaves the hospital.

She explained that her husband has no voice at the moment and will need vocal chord repair from the effects of the ventilator.
