Miguel’s Jr. debuted its take on crispy chicken this week.

Caliente Chicken Bites are tossed in the Corona-based chain’s original, house-made red hot sauce, according to a Facebook reel.

Miguel’s Jr. is serving them in three items for a limited time. A soft taco, made with Jack cheese, tomato, cilantro and house dressing, costs $4.49. A wrap with the same ingredients costs $9.49. And loaded fries, topped with cheddar cheese and house-made cilantro ranch dressing, cost $12.49.

Miguel’s Jr. was founded in 1975 and is marking its 50th anniversary this year. Including house-made hot sauce in the crispy chicken recipe is a way of trying something new while honoring the past, Javier Vasquez, president and chief executive officer, said in a recent interview.

Other limited-time items include mango tea, mango lemonade, strawberry lemonade and strawberry horchata.

Miguel’s Jr. is also expanding its “Box It” burrito combos to include fries, which the chain recently added to its menu, as a side option.
