Simpson says estranged husband ‘part of my life’

Jessica Simpson is opening up on her split from Eric Johnson, which she confirmed last month after 10 years of marriage.

The 44-year-old fashion designer told People that the former NFL tight end, 45, is “still very much a part of my life and will always be.”

The estranged couple, who dated for four years before tying the knot in July 2014, will always be tied together through their kids: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.

“I’ve grown up so much. I can handle so much,” Simpson said of the healing power of making new music, as she prepares to drop a new single, “Use My Heart Against Me,” this week.

Though she didn’t detail the breakdown of her marriage to Johnson, Simpson appeared to hint at it, telling People: “I don’t know why my heart gets tossed around, but I’m one of the lucky ones.”

People are mad about Matt Damon’s helmet

It was recently revealed that Christopher Nolan is helming a film adaptation of “The Odyssey” with Matt Damon playing the lead role of Odysseus. A sneak peek of Damon in the role has hit social media, and a lot of people have something to say about it.

Platforms such as Reddit and X lit up after the photo of Damon dressed in an ancient-looking cape and helmet was released. Mostly because of the helmet.

One Reddit group, r/AncientCivilizations, lambasted the headwear due to its inaccuracy not only with regards to the time, but the story’s description of the helmet itself.

“‘The Illiad’ describes Odysseus wearing a kino leather helmet adorned with boar tusks, but Hollywood can never resist the siren song of the generic ancient broom helmet,” writes one X user.

Others on social media pointed out how “The Odyssey” is a fictional tale to begin with, leaving it open to creative license.
