Staley’s staff in 2021 as his secondary coach.

The Chargers’ assistant coaching moves follow the hiring of Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator after Joe Lombardi was fired after a season in which the Chargers finished with a 10-7 regular-season record and advanced to the playoffs for the first time since going 12-4 in the 2018 season.

Moore spent four seasons as the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator and five years overall as an assistant coach. He was a quarterback with the Cowboys during his playing days in the NFL, as well. Lombardi had been the Chargers’ offensive coordinator for two seasons.

Hill, the Chargers’ defensive coordinator for the past two seasons, will be reunited with new Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Hill will become Miami’s defensive pass-game coordinator, according to reports from ESPN and the NFL Network. Hill was a Dolphins defensive back during his playing days.

Miami hired Fangio as its new defensive coordinator last week. Staley was a member of Fangio’s staff while with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos. Hill also worked with Fangio with the Broncos during the 2019 and ‘20 seasons, serving as defensive backs coach.
