Oakland Schools Science Consultants is hosting a conference for K-12 educators throughout the county next month.

Offered for the first time, Sciencefest is a hands-on mini-conference where educators can earn State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) with a focus on science and STEM education.

The event includes breakout sessions and a keynote presentation by Cory Susanne Miller, an assistant professor of teacher education and post-doctoral fellow at Michigan State University.

Registration is $10 and includes lunch as well as SCECHs.

The conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield.
