The San Jose Police Department released security video images Friday from a fatal January hit-and-run crash in hopes of finding the suspect.

Police said at the time that they responded to a traffic collision about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 involving a driver and a pedestrian on Senter Road near Capitol Expressway. A truck was northbound on Senter in the left lane, north of Capitol Expressway, and hit a man walking across Senter outside of a crosswalk.

The pedestrian, an adult male, was hospitalized and died of his injuries Jan. 12, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office. He was identified as San Jose resident Quinh Van, 38.

On Friday, police said they were seeking the driver of a 2001 to 2004 green Toyota Tacoma, extended cab, two-wheel-drive model. A still image from a nearby security camera recently released by police showed the green Toyota on San Jose streets.

The death marked the fifth traffic death of the year and the third involving a pedestrian who died, police said at the time.

SJPD asked anyone with information that could lead to the suspect to contact Detective Aldinger No. 4183 of SJPD’s Traffic Investigations Unit at 4183@sanjoseca.gov or call 408-277-4654.
