After a thorough search process that concluded with final interviews this week, the Vikings are reportedly set to hire Nolan Teasley to be their new general manager. He most recently served as the assistant general manager for the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

The decision to hire Teasley comes 120 days after the Vikings abruptly fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah on Jan. 30.

A respected talent evaluator in the industry, Teasely is widely viewed as a rising star after twice winning the Super Bowl with the Seahawks as a member of the front office. He got his start as an intern in the scouting department more than a decade ago before serving as a pro personnel scout, assistant director of pro personnel, director of pro personnel and assistant general manager.

It’s not immediately clear what Teasley’s arrival means for Rob Brzezinski, a long time fixture for the Vikings, who successfully navigated the storm over the past few months while serving as the acting general manager. He has a sterling reputation both internally and externally as arguably the best salary cap mind in the NFL. It sounds like there’s a good chance Brzezinski sticks around with the Vikings in his current role as executive vice president of football operations.

After shockingly firing Adofo-Mensah, the Wilfs committed to getting through the 2026 draft before looking for a permanent replacement. They leaned heavily on Brzezinski to steer the ship during a stretch that included free agency and the draft.As soon as the Wilfs started a thorough search process, they emphasized the importance of leadership as a key trait. Though they were looking for somebody who could pull the right strings when it came to roster construction, they put a premium on finding somebody who could build consensus across multiple platforms within the organization.

It appears that Teasley checks all those boxes.

Maybe the most interesting part of Teasley’s background is the fact that he emerged from a pool of finalists that all had some sort of connection to the Vikings. He was the lone outsider in a group that included Brzezinski, Reed Burckhardt (Denver Broncos assistant general manager), Terrance Gray (Buffalo Bills assistant general manager), and John McKay (Los Angeles Rams assistant general manager).
