No. 3-seeded Marin Catholic advanced to the NorCal Division III girls basketball championship game following an emphatic 50-36 victory at home against No. 7 Moreau Catholic on Saturday night.

The Wildcats (24-11) led 31-9 at the half with Izzy McFadden scoring 19 across the first two quarters. MC faces either No. 1 Immanuel or No. 4 Justin-Siena for the title on Tuesday. The game will either be in Reedley or at Marin Catholic.

Prep baseball

Eli Solem homered and drove in three runs as Tam High muscled up a 5-2 home win over Maria Carrillo on Saturday.

On the mound, Solem nailed down the win with six strikeouts as he walked one and gave up a run in 4 2/3 hitless innings. Cole Kramlich had a pair of hits for the Red-tailed Hawks (3-2).

• Trevor Mathews had a big day at the plate to help power Branson past Drew, 13-1, at College of Marin on Saturday. Mathews was 3-for-4 including a triple, with three RBIs and a run scored. Cobe Benjamin had a pair of hits for two RBIs and a run.

• San Marin’s Jaden Brown threw a complete-game two-hitter, but gave up the winning run in the sixth inning as Livermore beat the host Mustangs 1-0 on Saturday. Brown dealt two strikeouts but walked five batters. Joey Cipollina, Chase Rawles and Matthew Baldino each had a hit for the Mustangs (2-2).

• Acalanes rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to edge host Marin Catholic, 8-7, on Saturday. Luke Martin drove in a pair of Wildcat runs and Wade Untermann had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Colt Crum struck out five batters through 4 2/3 innings for Marin Catholic (4-1).

Boys lacrosse

Colorado’s Valor Christian rallied past Marin Catholic for a 12-6 victory in Kentfield on Saturday. Marin Catholic led 4-0 early on before the Eagles went on an 8-0 run. The Wildcats (3-1) are scheduled to play MCAL foe Terra Linda on Friday.

• Alhambra edged host Branson, 5-4, on Saturday. The Bulls (0-3) are scheduled to visit Rancho Coatate on Monday.

• Novato got off to a fast start with a two-goal lead at halftime, but host Miramonte rallied in the second half for a 8-5 victory over the Hornets (3-2), who are scheduled to play MCAL rival Tam on Wednesday.
