Person struck, killed by Green Line train

A person was fatally struck by a Green Line light-rail train Friday night in St. Paul.

Police were called to University and Prior avenues shortly after 8:30 p.m. and found a person had been stuck by a westbound Green Line train. Despite life-saving measures, the person died, according to a statement from Metro Transit. There were no other injuries reported.

The person’s identity has not yet been released.

Buses temporarily replaced trains between the Snelling Avenue and Raymond Avenue stations due to the incident.

The investigation is being led by Metro Transit police.
