Lions (7-1) at Texans (6-3)
When: 8:20 p.m. EST today
TV: NBC
BetMGM NFL odds: Lions by 3 1/2
Series record: Texans lead 4-1.
Last meeting: Texans beat Lions 41-25 on Nov. 26, 2020, in Detroit.
Last week: Lions beat Packers 24-14; Texans lost to Jets 21-13.
Lions player to watch: WR Jameson Williams returns after serving a two-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy. The Lions struggled to get the ball down the field in his absence. After averaging 12.6 yards per completion in the season’s first six games, Jared Goff dropped to 7.7 yards per completion against Tennessee and Green Bay. Williams is averaging 21.2 yards per catch this season and has been Goff’s only consistent deep option. He ranks second on the team with 361 yards receiving.
Texans player to watch: WR Nico Collins could return this week after missing the past four games after being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Coach DeMeco Ryans said this week that Collins is “doing good” but wouldn’t say if he’ll play. If he is back, it will be a huge boost to a passing game that has struggled in recent weeks without him and with Stefon Diggs out for the season. Collins remains Houston’s leading receiver with 567 yards and eight touchdowns despite his extended absence.
Key matchup: Goff vs. Houston’s defense. Goff is the first quarterback in league history to complete at least 72% of his passes with a passer rating of 105 or higher in six straight games. His completion rate (82.8%) and passer rating (140.1) over the past six games are the highest in any six-game span in NFL history for a player with at least 50 passing attempts. Now he’ll face a defense which ranks third in the NFL by allowing just 167.4 yards passing a game and which ranks fourth with 29 sacks.

GIANTS (2-7) vs. panthers (2-7) in munich
When: 9:30 a.m. today
TV: NFL Network
BetMGM odds: Giants by 5
Series record: Panthers lead 7-6.
Last meeting: Giants beat the Panthers 19-16 on Sept. 18, 2022, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Last week: Giants lost to Commanders 27-22; Panthers beat Saints 23-22.
Key matchup: Giants edge rusher Brian Burns vs. Panthers LT Brady Christensen: Burns will surely be motivated to have a big game against his former team after the Panthers didn’t give him a long-term contract extension and wound up trading him to the Giants this past offseason. Burns has five sacks this season, but none in the past two weeks. He will face backup Brady Christensen, who will make his second straight start filling in for the injured Ickey Ekwonu.
Series notes: The Giants have won the past two matchups. ... This matchup could go a long way toward determining the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft.
Stats & stuff: New York has lost four straight. ... This will be the Giants’ fifth trip to Europe and second to Germany, where they played a preseason game in Berlin against San Diego in 1994. They have played three regular-season games in London, the most recent in 2022 against Green Bay. They are 4-0 overseas. ... Panthers QB Bryce Young gets his third straight start for Carolina after leading a fourth-quarter touchdown drive last week against the Saints. ... RB Chuba Hubbard has had a strong season and ran for 72 yards and two TDs last week. ... Carolina’s 10 sacks are tied for the second fewest in the league.
bills (7-2) at colts (4-5)
When: 1 p.m. today
TV: CBS
BetMGM NFL odds: Bills by 4
Series record: Bills lead 38-33-1.
Last meeting: Colts beat Bills 41-15 in Buffalo on Nov. 21, 2021.
Last week: Bills beat Dolphins 30-27, Colts lost to Vikings 21-13.
Key matchup: Bills defensive front vs. Colts offensive line. Buffalo DT Ed Oliver is disruptive against most offensive linemen, but this week could prove especially problematic for the Colts after they placed Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly on injured reserve. Indy will be starting a rookie center, Tanor Bortolini, and an undrafted rookie guard, Dalton Tucker, though getting back LT Bernhard Raimann (concussion protocol) would help Indy. If the Bills spend significant time in Indy’s backfield, the offense could sputter again.
Series notes: Indy has won two of the past three against Buffalo, losing the lone playoff game between these former AFC East foes in January 2021. ... The Colts have won the only two previous matchups at Lucas Oil Stadium. ... Buffalo has not topped the 27-point mark against the Colts since January 2010. ... TV: CBS
BetMGM NFL odds: Chiefs by 8 1/2
Series record: Chiefs lead 72-56.
Last meeting: Broncos beat the Chiefs 24-9 on Oct. 29, 2023, in Denver.
Last week: Broncos lost at Ravens 41-10; Chiefs beat Buccaneers 30-24 in overtime.
Key matchup: Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt against the Denver run defense, which is ninth in the league and is a big reason why the Broncos are No. 3 in scoring defense. Hunt has the ability to wear down defenses over the course of the game, and many of his 106 yards came late against the Buccaneers, as did his lone touchdown to win the game in overtime.
Series notes: The Chiefs have dominated the matchup of AFC West rivals ever since Andy Reid arrived in Kansas City, winning 16 straight in the series before the Broncos finally beat Kansas City last October. It was their first win over the Chiefs since a 31-24 victory on Sept. 14, 2014. That was also the most recent time the Broncos won a game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Stats & stuff: Broncos QB Bo Nix already has the most completions (184) and yards passing (1,753) by a rookie in team history. ... Denver is allowing 4.71 yards per play, the second-best mark in the NFL. ... The Broncos have run for at least 100 yards in seven straight games. Eight would be their most since 2011. ... The Chiefs have won 14 consecutive games going back to last season, the longest streak of coach Andy Reid’s career. ... Kansas City is only the sixth team to follow a Super Bowl title by starting 8-0 the next season. It can match the franchise record for best start with another victory, set in 2003 and matched in 2013.

TV: Fox
BetMGM NFL odds: 49ers by 6

Last week: 49ers, bye. Buccaneers lost to Chiefs 30-24 in OT
Key matchup: San Francisco’s balanced offense against a Tampa Bay defense that’s struggled to stop opponents on third down and ranks 19th against run, 30th against the pass and 28th in points allowed.
Series notes: The 49ers have won three straight in a series in which they’ve generally had their way, including the past two seasons. The 2002 Bucs won the only postseason matchup between the franchises, defeating San Francisco in a NFC divisional round playoff game on the way to winning their first Super Bowl title.
Stats & stuff: San Francisco is seeking its first back-to-back wins of the season. ... The 49ers are 4-3 coming off a regular-season bye under coach Kyle Shanahan. ... San Francisco went 16-2 combined following a Week 9 bye the past two seasons. ...The 49ers have multiple INTs in three straight games in a season for the first time since 2014. Last meeting: Falcons beat Saints 26-24 on Sept. 29, 2024, in Atlanta.
Last week: Falcons beat Cowboys 27-21; Saints lost to Panthers 23-22.
Key matchup: The Saints’ depleted secondary vs. the Falcons’ passing game. New Orleans this week traded top cornerback Marshon Lattimore to Washington and fellow starting cornerback Paulson Adebo is sidelined for the season with a broken leg. New Orleans also doesn’t know if rookie defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry, a second-round draft choice, will be ready to return from a hamstring injury that sidelined him last week. Falcons’ QB Kirk Cousins 2,328 yards passing are the fourth most in the NFL this season. His top targets have been Darnell Mooney (588 yards receiving) and Drake London (552 yards receiving).
Series notes: The home team has won the past four games of the series. … The Falcons have not swept the season series since 2016. The Saints swept the series in 2022.

Now he’s going against a defense that’s been gouged for 16 plays of 30 or more yards.
Series notes: Minnesota is 2-0 in Jacksonville and the only team the Jaguars have never beaten at home. … The Vikings have won five in a row in the series, with Jacksonville’s most recent victory coming in 2001. … The most recent meeting was an overtime victory for Minnesota in 2020 that included a standout performance from Jefferson (121 yards, TD).
