River Islands, Northern California’s most popular lifestyle community, has several large scale projects going on through the winter months that will continue to enhance the lifestyles of its residents and add to the community’s appeal.

Change is a constant in this thriving community, which has seen more than 4,000 homes sold in the last ten years, a charter school district established, eighteen lakes built, and a number of neighborhood and community parks opened.

When River Islands is complete, not only will there be a vast array of new homes neighborhoods, made distinctive by their designs, sizes and features, there will also be a business park for offices, research and development or campus use, and a Town Center for sports, entertainment, dining, shopping and services.

Islanders Field, an award-winning baseball park, anchors the Town Center area at the San Joaquin River entrance to the community. Building enough schools to keep pace with the growing community is of paramount importance to River Islands. Its fourth K-8 charter school—large enough for 1,080 students—is now under construction for an opening in August, 2026. In addition, the newly completed River Islands High School will graduate its first senior class in 2026.

Among its members are students who started their academic lives in kindergarten at the River Islands Technology Academy in 2013.

It will hold a Grand Opening in February.

River Islands is also home to an all-new Del Webb community for adults, age 55+. Three model complexes are open, offering nine different approaches to active adult lifestyles.

The centerpiece of the Del Webb community is its Lakeview Club, a private recreation center with pool, spa, pickleball, exercise facilities and club rooms, Grand Opening on January 31.

The Homefinder function on the community website, RiverIslands.com, allows prospective homebuyers to enter all the features most important to them in a home—price, bedroom and bath count, one or two stories, and its proximity to a lifestyle feature. The resulting report indicates which homes best suit each buyer’s “must-have” features.
