Diane Shiraishi passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 in her beloved home in San Jose, CA after two years battling pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband Norman Shiraishi of 52 years, their 2 sons and spouses Kurt (Allie) and Craig (Yen), and grandson Calvin; her siblings Joyce Umemoto, Ken Ota, Debbie Lienhart, and Chris Ota; and many nieces and nephews, relatives, and countless friends.

?Diane was born in Lovell, Wyoming on November 3, 1946 to Minol and Masako Ota. She graduated from Lovell High School and the University of California San Francisco.

She practiced physical therapy for over 50years with majority of her years at her private practice “DS Physical Therapy & Sports care” near O’Connor Hospital.

She was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. Diane loved spending time in Las Vegas playing video poker or weekly Progressive Rummy card games with her friends and family. She was notoriously known to host all family birthday parties with endless potlucks.

Diane was a healer who touched many lives. She had a huge heart for all and used feng shui throughout her lifetime. She was passionate about her Buddhist faith, always visiting the monks and nuns at Tu Vien Kim Son Monastery. She will be remembered for her warm smile, generosity of spirit, and compassion for all.

Although Diane faced many medical challenges in the past two years, she was determined not to let them keep her from doing the things she loved. She will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, and will remain in our hearts forever.

?A memorial service will be held at San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 N5th St, San Jose, CA95112 at 3:00 P.M on July 2, 2022.
