




Spring is a great time to experience a live play and southeastern Michigan offers theater goers several destinations featuring marvelous shows for audiences of all ages.
North of Macomb County lies Marine City, which is home to the Riverbank Theatre, one of several venues operated by Thumbcoast Live Theaters.
“The Love List” opened at the Riverbank Theatre on May 3 and will run until June 15.
This sharp and surprising comedy written by Canadian playwright Norm Foster explores the chaos that ensues when one man’s perfect woman comes to life, literally. Directed by Mycah Artis, the show features a strong case of three whose collaborative history adds sharp wit to what is already a funny fast-paced script.

Also presenting a new show this weekend is Grosse Pointe Theatre. Their presentation of the timeless musical, “The Secret Garden,” opened last weekend and is on stage again May 7-11.
Set in the early 1900s, the poignant and powerful story of loss, healing and the unbreakable bonds of love follows the the life of young Mary Lennox as she navigates a new life in a mysterious Yorkshires mansion after the loss of her parents. Through unexpected friendships and the discovery of a long-forgotten garden, she sets in motion a journey of emotional and physical healing for herself and those around her.
