Stanford (15-7) endured its worst loss of the season, losing to SMU (17-5) on Saturday night at Moody Coliseum 85-61. The Cardinal trailed by as many as 36 points.
Senior forward Maxime Raynaud recorded his 17th double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and hauling in 10 rebounds, but only converted 6 of 17 shots from the field.
Junior guard Oziyah Sellers led Stanford with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Sellers also totaled six rebounds and three assists.
Stanford entered the halftime break trailing by 20 points after shooting 29 percent from the field but allowing SMU to shoot 51.6 percent from the field.
The Cardinal will return home to host Wake Forest on Feb. 5 and N.C. State on Feb. 8.

Santa Clara routs visiting Pacific >> Santa Clara (15-9) shot 55.4 percent from the field and 40 percent from deep as it easily handled Pacific (7-18) in a 83-49 home win.
Junior center Christoph Tilly led the Broncos with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Senior guard Adama-Alpha Bal contributed 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Off the bench, junior forward Elijah Mahi totaled six points, five rebounds and a career-high six assists while senior forward Camaron Tongue poured in 14 points in 17 minutes.

Arizona State’s Hurley calls out Arizona >> Tommy Lloyd and Bobby Hurley met near midcourt before the game and exchanged pleasantries.
An afternoon of chirping and a late headbutt ruined the mood by the time the rivalry game was over.
Frustrated with Arizona’s constant chatter, Hurley waved Arizona State’s players off the floor after the Wildcats’ 81-72 road win Saturday to prevent any further escalation.
“Right near our bench, it was relentless, constant chatter from a couple of Arizona’s players that wasn’t being policed properly,” Hurley said. “Of course, they’re going to be happy with winning, but it was done with no class, in my opinion.”
Women
Saint Mary’s blown out by Oregon State >> The Gaels (11-10) shot 35 percent from the field and didn’t have a single player crack double figures as they were blown out 80-45 by Oregon State (11-13).
Saint Mary’s went into halftime trailing by 20 points, making only 7-of-24 shots from the field (29.2%).
Saint Mary’s will return to Moraga to play Gonzaga on Thursday.

Pollerd leads Santa Clara past San Francisco >> Senior forward Olivia Pollerd turned in her third double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and totaling 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals as Santa Clara defeated San Francisco 59-50.
Senior guard Freja Werth led the Dons with 18 points and secured eight rebounds, but only made 6-of-20 shots from the field.
