More than 1,000 University of La Verne students are now graduates.
The 1,555 graduates received their diplomas in two ceremonies Saturday during ceremonies at the Ortmayer Athletics Complex on campus, a news release states.
It was the first commencement season on campus for Risa Dickson, the private university’s 20th president.
“At the University of La Verne, we look forward to seeing the positive impact our graduates will have on the communities where they live and work,” Dickson said, according to the release. “Our graduates carry with them a deep understanding of the power of community engagement and leadership.”
The ceremonies also featured a keynote address by Rep. Gil Cisneros, D-Covina, who serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business.
