Alicia Silverstone blithely bit into a toxic berry and lived to tell about it.

The “Clueless” star sparked concern this week after she nibbled on the fruit during a trip to England, even though she knew it wasn’t a run-of-the-mill cherry tomato.

“OK, I’ve discovered something that I can’t figure out what it is and I need your help,” the actor said Monday in a video posted on TikTok and Instagram, adding that she had found the brightly colored berry on a sidewalk. “I just bit into it because it was on the street, and we are discussing whether it is a tomato or not.”

Silverstone, 47, then dropped the orange-hued berry, adding that it was “definitely not” a tomato because of the leaves growing from the plant. “I don’t think you’re supposed to eat this, but it’s almost like a pepper. Does anyone know what this is?”

Silverstone’s followers agreed — she wasn’t supposed to eat it — and identified the plant as the mildly poisonous Jerusalem cherry. Noting fans’ concern about her well being, Silverstone returned to the platforms nearly 24 hours later to reassure followers that she had lived to tell the tale.

“Alive and well! Don’t worry ... I didn’t swallow,” she wrote, referring to a racy “Clueless” quip and posting an old photo.

Rapper to host VMAs: Megan Thee Stallion plans on being the host with the most at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. The Grammy-winning hip-hop star was announced Thursday as emcee of the ceremony, scheduled to air live Sept. 10.

Already a two-time VMA winner, Megan Thee Stallion also garnered five nominations for 2024, including best hip hop video, the same category she won in 2020 for her Beyoncé-powered chart-topper “Savage.”

As a first-time nominee in 2019, she took home the prize in the best power anthem category for her smash “Hot Girl Summer.”

She’s riding a wave of popularity after performing at an Atlanta rally for presidential nominee Kamala Harris. She also recently dropped “Mamushi” (featuring Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba), which has become a viral sensation on TikTok.

Kelce in talks for movie role: Travis Kelce has more acting credits coming this fall. And a jump to the big screen could be next.

Variety reported that Kelce is in talks to appear in the action-comedy movie “Loose Cannons,” produced by “John Wick” director Chad Stahelski. As described by IMDb, the film tells how “two unhinged police officers are forced to partner up after their precincts merge, and they take on cases no one else can handle.”

Kelce will be seen in a pair of TV shows this fall. He is hosting “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity,” which debuts Oct. 16 on Amazon Prime Video, and will co-star in “Grotesquerie,” a horror drama on FX that starts Sept. 25.
