Mervin Arthur Anderson, 87, of Yuma, AZ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Mervin was born in Salinas, CA to Arthur and Alberta Anderson.
He graduated from Salinas High School in 1955 and continued his education at Hartnell College and Fresno State University. Mervin dedicated his career to Merrill Farms, splitting his time between Salinas, CA, and Yuma, AZ, before retiring and settling permanently in Yuma.
Mervin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sharon Anderson; his son, Kevin Jacobs; his brothers, Marvin Anderson and Vernon Baxter; and his sisters, Lorraine Harper and Margie Burger.
Mervin is survived by his three daughters, LeAnne (Lee) Papazian, Jodi Anderson, and Kerri (Chris) Mulé, all of Salinas, CA; his son, Jimmy Jacobs of Phoenix, AZ; his eight grandchildren, Josh & Jacob Paradela, Bailey, Beau, & Luke Papazian, Alison & Jase Anderson -McMurray, Anthony Mulé; and his great-grandson, Arlus Taylor.
Mervin was an avid hunter, cherishing numerous trips with family and friends in pursuit of duck, deer, and elk.
He also enjoyed the camaraderie and challenge of golf, holding memberships at the Yuma Golf and Country Club and the Pinewood Country Club in Munds Park, AZ.
Mervin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a kind, witty, and loving man, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories.
