Resident of El Sobrante
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Drake Edward Collins, 80, a beloved husband, father and papa.
Drake, the eldest of two siblings, was born to Edwin and Betty Collins in Tillamook, OR. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Sacramento State and an MBA from Golden Gate University, Drake went on to have a long and successful career in sales. After meeting his beloved wife of 51 years, Paulette, they settled in El Sobrante, CA where they raised their two sons, Justin and Ryan.
Drake found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as sharing breakfast with Paulette at their local diner, Sukie’s. Taking great pride in his home, he never lost his zest for tinkering around the yard. He had a passion for reading and loved going to the local library and stopping by The Friends of the El Sobrante Library house. Drake enjoyed sharing a donut with other members while exchanging books where he was fondly known as“Bob”.
Drake was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Betty. He is survived by his wife, Paulette; sons, Justin (Alicia) and Ryan (Nicole); grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew; sister, Sharlane Scott; nephews, Cameron and Brandon; and niece, Mckenzie.
Drake’s life was one of love, kindness, and dedication.
He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish the memories of his gentle spirit and quirky sense of humor.
His life will be honored privately by his family. Should you wish to do so, donations can be made in Drake’s name to The Friends of the El Sobrante Library at www.ccclib.org.
