Ricky Paul Fontaine, affectionately known as Rick, passed away onJune 23, 2024 at the age of 65. Born on October 6, 1958, in San Jose, CA. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert M Fontaine, Peggy Zipp, and stepparents, Cliff Zipp, Laura Fontaine. Rick is survived by his loving wife Diane, His son Jeremy Fontaine (Tiffany), his brother Bob (late wife Karen), his sisters Sandra Menard (Jim), Lori Geber (Alan), Carol Santos (Ron), and Nancy Jordan (Rick).
Aproud graduate of Del Mar High School in 1977. Rick began his career at IBM and retired after more than 40 successful years.
In 1996, Rick married the love of his life, Diane and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Rick was a devoted father to Jeremy. He loved his only son very much. Rick enjoyed spending time with his family especially when it came time to discussing cars and collections.
Rick loved going out to dinner with Diane, driving his 1933 Packard, watching Star Trek, shopping and collecting antiques, attending Sci-fi movies, spending time with friends and going to the Glen Miller concert every year.
Rick’s sense of humor will only be surpassed by his kind and compassionate nature. He was always willing to help family and friends. He loved life and enriched the lives of others.
A Memorial Service to honor Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at LIMA-CAM- PAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. Second Street, San Jose. Reflecting on Rick’s life during the service will be Pastor Derek Engfelt.
