Readers respond to Question of the Week:

Is Epstein ruling a surprise to you?

Not of interest

I’m not particularly interested in how Jeffrey Epstein died — and I suspect I’m not alone. What most people really want is the client list. They want names. They want to know who the awful sinners were. And yes, some of them were awful. I’m curious, too. But before we get too eager to point fingers, it’s worth asking: What if there were a list of everyone’s sins? Would we be comfortable seeing our own names on it? In the Bible, when a woman was caught in adultery and the crowd prepared to stone her, Jesus said, “Let him who is without sin among you cast the first stone at her.” No one did. They all walked away. Before rushing to judgment, maybe we should each take a hard look inward. It’s not about excusing wrongdoing — it’s about remembering all of us need a measure of grace.

Case closed, move on

Last week Attorney General Bondi told Fox News in a question specifically about the Epstein client list that she had the FBI file on her desk to review. However, I must assume that when she opened it Sunday night and saw there were a lot of high-ranking Republicans and Democrats on the list she called her dog and Spot ate the list. Then Sunday night Bondi released a statement saying there was “no list” and the files contain “no relevant information,” “case closed” and “move on.” I love hardball politics.

No client list?

I was stunned and disappointed when the memo came out stating there was no client list. I know that a lot of Epstein’s personal records were previously destroyed or mysteriously disappeared to protect the guilty parties involved. Bondi says they have the flight manifest, which lists the names of the people on his plane. So isn’t that considered a client list? Why can’t they publish those names and then interrogate/investigate these people to determine what was actually going on there? This doesn’t make any sense and I know many others feel the same way. I don’t consider this case to be closed for good. Somebody out there is still going to take it upon themselves and do their own research. If anyone knows anything more they should come forward and spill their guts!
