I want to thank Valparaiso Councilman (Robert) Cotton for advocating, at the recent city hall meeting, for fines for people and businesses who violate the mask mandate. It is apparent that the others on the city council are still not taking the virus seriously enough. Despite the fact that the governor described our state as being “on fire” due to the … surge in the number of cases. Thank you, Robert Cotton, for standing up to those who still seemingly think we live in a protective bubble in Valpo.

Please remember your mail carriers at Christmas. We remember ours every year. Just $5 (or more if you can afford it) makes the carrier realize that all the hassles of weather and the pandemic made 2020 worth it. I know we never missed our mail even when everything else was shut down. The same goes for anyone else who delivers to you regularly. May whatever holiday you observe be a happy, safe one. And remember to MASK UP!!

Sen. Mitch McConnell finally calls Joe Biden the President-elect. Suspiciously, right after Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations. And people wonder why they call McConnell “Moscow Mitch.”

Don’t shed any tears for William Barr. He thoroughly deserves all the obliquy that history will heap on him. Even as he’s forced out the door, he couldn’t keep himself from gushing sycophantic praise on the man he conspired with to defile our legal system.

Before he (died), my father always bragged about the thought and preparation that went into Operation Overlord that lead to the end of WW2 with Germany. I see that same dedication and love for country in Operation Warp Speed that will end the COVID19 virus. Where is the pride in our country that this dedication deserves? Heroes created this dedication.

First the Washington Redskins have to drop their name. Then the Cleveland Indiana have to drop theirs. Do the New York Giants football team have to drop their name because it’s offensive to tall people? Come on, get over it. Too touchy…

Every congressperson who signed the phony document to overthrow Biden’s election shouldn’t be seated in congress. The 14th Amendment states that it’s legal. Maybe then they will start representing the people and not their cult leader.

So Joseph Epstein, Joseph, Joey, kiddo, you think that in order to have the title “Doctor” in front of one’s name, one must have “delivered a child” as a wise man once stated. With that logic, then every woman who has ever lived on this planet and given birth should have the title of “Doctor” in front of her name. We have all “delivered” babies, and we have the stretch marks, the episiotomy scars, the vaginal tears, and the Caesarean section scars to prove it!

West side of (Hobart) hears one gunshot and HPD calls the SWAT Team. Northeast side hears relentless gunfire and told if we do not see the gun shot they won’t respond. For all the “practice shooting ” the HPD does, why the need for SWAT?

The recent Army/Navy football game brought tears to my eyes. Not for the football, but for the patriotism festivities. And yes, our president was part of those festivities. It put the NFL sham to shame. This is what America is all about.

I have had my fill of cruel people, vile people, obnoxious people, stubborn people and spoiled rotten people. If you can’t be kind and civil to others, then stay home and off the internet.
