Redwood High’s bats got off to an explosive start and juniors Jack Moseley and Jack Block shared pitching duties for a two-hit shutout against Terra Linda, 18-0, on Tuesday.

Moseley had six strikeouts in four hitless innings, while Block struck out three and gave up a pair of hits in three innings. At the plate, junior Theo Trono was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for the Giants, who scored 12 runs in the first two innings. Redwood senior Kaelin Christman had a pair of base hits for two RBIs and two runs. Senior Sam Gersch and sophomore Chase Johnson each tripled and scored twice for the Giants (10-6-1, 7-4 MCAL).

• Novato High put up four runs in the top of the first inning Tuesday and never trailed during a 13-5 victory over Tam. Hornets sophomore Gio Castaing busted out three doubles and a base hit for Novato (8-7, 4-5 MCAL), driving in two runs and scoring three more. Teammate Cash Campbell was 3-for-4 with a double with an RBI and a run. For Tam (12-5, 7-2), senior Cooper Kift doubled and tripled for three RBIs, while senior Ryan Simon was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs.

• Marin Catholic plated seven runs in the top of the first and rolled to a 23-1 victory over San Rafael on Tuesday. Wildcats junior Luke Martin was 4-for-7 with a home run, three RBIs and five runs scored. Sophomore Cooper Benjamin also homered as he was 3-for-6 to drive in a pair of runs and score three more for Marin Catholic (8-7, 5-6 MCAL).

• Archie Williams High sophomore Kingston Weinberg rang up eight strikeouts in a complete-game 4-3 road victory over non-league foe Analy on Tuesday. Weinberg gave up four hits and one walk as he faced 28 batters. The Peregrine Falcons (10-7, 6-4 MCAL) staked Weinberg to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning, and then shut down a Tigers rally effort in the fifth inning. Falcons senior Jack Evans was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while junior Jake Barnes also doubled and drove in a run. The Falcons were coming off Monday’s 6-2 non-league win over Albany in which junior August Block homered and doubled for two RBIs and two runs.

• San Marin suffered a pair of losses Monday in the Boras Baseball Classic in Sacramento. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to St. Ignatius and 8-4 to Oak Ridge. The tournament continues this week.
