Mayor Stone appoints HR director

Jared Gajos was appointed as Warren’s Human Resources Director last week by Mayor Lori Stone. Gajos comes to Warren from Hazel Park where he was Director of Human Resources and Special Project Coordinator. He began his career as an assistant to the city manager in that city.

“Mr. Gajos brings a wealth of knowledge, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service,” said Stone. “His extensive experience in human resources, combined with his passion for community engagement, makes him an ideal fit to lead our HR department.”

Warren has been without a Human Resources Director since November of 2023 when Stone was elected and her opponent in that election, George Dimas, resigned from the position. Warren’s new Human Resources Director has a Masters Degree in Law with a concentration in Human Resources from Wayne State University and has a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University. He also is a Certified Labor Relations Leader through MSU and earned Public Manager certification through Saginaw Valley State University.

A former Reserve police officer, Gajos brings is actively involved in community initiatives and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a focus on prevention, wellness, and recovery support.

In recognition of his service, he was named a 2024 Nonprofit Board Leader by Crain’s Detroit Business. He also sits on the Hazel Park Parks and Recreation Board and is a former member of the Hazel Park Brownfield Authority.
