Richard Eugene Reese aged 90 of Mount Clemens, MI passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Oakland Twp. The son of Eugene Ensley Reese and Bobbie Martin Anderson. He was born on April 26, 1934 in Walnut, NC.
Richard retired from the Detroit Police Department as a Detective Lieutenant after 30 years, and then went on to serve as a Public Safety Officer at Macomb Community College. He served in the Marine Corps for several years and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of St. Margaret’s of Scotland parish for many years serving in various volunteer roles including leading a weekly prayer meeting. His primary joy was his wife and children, nature, music and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard and two grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary Diane Reese, his children from a former marriage: Jim (Sally) Reese, Mike Reese, Steve (Joann) Reese and his step children: Maureen (Dennis) St. Clair, Elisabeth (Mark) Marentic, Charles (Andrea) Shaw, Alyson (Dave) Halvarson, Brendan (Christie) Shaw and many grandchildren and great grandchildren His smile, laughter and stories enriched many lives. There were two things he never failed to say, which was I love you and I’m so proud of you. A private Memorial service will held for family in April.
