By Boulder County Farmers Markets

Throughout Boulder County, buds are appearing on barren branches, spring bulbs are poking their heads out of the soil, and the sounds of bird songs are pointing in the direction of a beautiful Colorado spring.

And out of all the signs of spring, perhaps the most telling is the return of the Boulder and Longmont Farmers Markets this Saturday, April 5. With nearly 170 vendors joining us this season, we’re thrilled to be back to providing our community with the highest-quality, locally-produced food in our region. As an all-weather market, a little spring snow doesn’t deter us, but you can always check in on our social media (@boulderfarmersmarket and @longmontfarmersmarket) for any weather-related updates.

Time to dust off your market gear

It’s spring in Colorado, so it’s unlikely we’ll know what Mother Nature truly has in store for us until Saturday. Be sure to pack a few layers for your market trip and visit the Boulder and Longmont Farmers Markets this Saturday to reunite with your favorite farmers, ranchers and small food businesses.

While you’re making your market list, be sure to leave one thing off: we have a pet-free “pawlicy,” so unless your pet is a service animal, we ask that you please leave them at home to maintain a healthy, clean and safe environment for everyone.

New: Boulder Bike Valet, Ride Longmont offer new transportation options

We’re proud to share two new transportation partnerships to help make it easy and enjoyable to get to the farmers market this season. The Boulder Farmers Market will partner with SharedPaths Boulder and Bike Bolder to offer a free Bike Valet every Saturday for the 2025 market season!

This unique, volunteer-led service will allow customers to leave their bike in a supervised and secure Bike Corral while they shop. Perfect for cyclists who like to pack their panniers for a day out on the town or e-bike enthusiasts searching for extra secure bike parking, this free service will make it easier to pedal your way down to the farmers market.

For our Longmont customers, the farmers market is teaming up with Ride Longmont, the City of Longmont’s new taxi service, to provide free rides to the farmers market for the month of April! Simply plug the Longmont Farmers Market in as your destination, and a free coupon will be automatically applied to your ride.

The ride-sharing service can transport citizens anywhere in the city for $2 (or $1 for students, seniors, and those with disabilities). Plus, Ride Longmont’s vehicles are equipped with a bike rack, which means you can enjoy a leisurely bike ride to the market and stock up on all the veggies your heart desires.

What can I expect to find at the market this Saturday?

Boulder County Farmers Markets hosts local-only markets, meaning you won’t find any imported produce at our markets. Instead, you’ll be greeted with the most flavorful, cold-hardy produce like a wide variety of salad greens including overwintered spinach, kale, lettuces and more. Plus, you can count on pantry staples like freshly baked breads, honey, and locally-roasted coffee; snackable selections of pickled vegetables, cured meats, cheeses, and hummus; sweet treats ranging from artisan chocolates to flaky, fruit packed pies and one-of-a-kind pastries.

If you’re itching to start your garden, our farmers will also have a wide variety of plant starts to help get you started. Grown from seed in our community, these local plant starts are adapted to our local climate and ready to thrive in your home garden.
