Scotts Valley

“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Erin Elizabeth Johnston on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

She was at home with her loving husband by her side. As Dwayne put it, she looked beautiful and at peace.

Erin was the youngest of nine siblings and grew up in Scotts Valley, California. She graduated from Soquel High School, class of 1981.

As a young girl Erin had a passion for horses, and the stories shared over the years were nothing short of the best. She found great joy and peace in their company.

As she got older, riding her motorcycle through the mountains became her passion.

Erin leaves behind her loving husband Dwayne Baker, eight siblings Sarah, Bridgette (Bob), Katy, Patsy (Hans), Bill (Judy), Michael (Karen), Dan (Lauri), Timmy, three stepchildren, six nephews, five nieces, three grandchild, her childhood friend Julie Anderson, and her loyal dog Wyatt, her faithful companion.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother Patricia Johnston and brother in law Charlie Welch.

Erin will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and beauty. She was deeply devoted to her family, whose happiness meant everything to her. Holidays-especially Thanksgiving will never be the same without her. She brought so much joy to all those around her.

It’s not a goodbye-it’s “see you again.

We love you and will miss you endlessly Erin
