Mill Valley

Lue Ann Tikker passed away peacefully in her beloved home with her family by her side on February 20th.

Lue Ann was the eldest child of Rue and Joanne Tikker. She spent her early childhood in Southern California prior to moving to Marin. She attended Redwood High School and graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Occupational Therapy.

She was an independent contractor and provided OT services to thousands of people throughout Marin and Sonoma County during her distinguished career. She was especially proud of her collaborative work with others to help those living with the challenges of ALS.

She and her husband of 46 years (Peter Cooney) raised their children, Ryan and Morgan, in Mill Valley where they've lived for 45 years. She always fully supported the kids' school and sports activities.

Lue Ann was a devoted life partner, a loving mom, grandma (Lulu), daughter, sister, and a cherished friend of many. She loved to cook and bake, nourish her beautiful garden, and listen to music of all types. She also found great joy in family vacations at Sea Ranch, Tahoe, and Hawaii. She was kind, caring, and thoughtful, which led her to be a dedicated volunteer throughout her life at organizations that help those less fortunate than her. There's less light, laughter, and love in the world without her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Watts. She's survived by her husband, Peter; her son, Ryan (Kristin); her daughter, Morgan; and her grandchildren, Evan and Emma Lue. She's also survived by her father, Rue; her stepmother, Joanne; her four siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family thanks Dr. Bobbie Head and the team at Marin Cancer Care for their thoughtful guidance and care over the years.

At her request, the celebration of her life will be private.

Contributions in her name can be made to Ceres Community Project (www.ceresproject.org) or any organization that helps the less fortunate.
