Talia Lowney got tricky and the Greater Lowell Tech girls soccer team remained hot.

Lowney registered a hat trick to fuel the Gryphons to an impressive 7-1 win over Lowell Catholic on Tuesday afternoon.

The Gryphons (6-1-1, 5-0-1 CAC Large) stormed out to a 5-1 halftime lead. Also scoring goals were Emily Hem, Kendra O’Brien, Alana Pimental and Lily Githitu. It was O’Brien’s first varsity goal. Sera Eramo dished out two assists. Hem set up one goal with a corner kick.

For Lowell Catholic, junior captain Shayla Strickland netted the lone goal, assisted by junior center midfielder Natalia DeLucia. Also starring for the Crusaders were senior striker Sofia Pescatore and freshman midfielder Madyson Valencia.

Nashoba 2, Lynn Tech 0 >> Under the lights in Westford, Nashoba Tech prevailed as goalkeeper Kali Christakos collected the shutout.

Senior captain Amelia Lelievre anchored a strong defensive effort, holding Lynn Tech to only a handful of shots in both halves. Sydney Rokita set up both goals, as Abby Steers and Delaney Auger both tallied. Providing great hustle were Ally Montgomery and Aaliya Smith.

Lynn Classical 1, ST 0 >> Shawsheen Tech travelled to Lynn and returned with a tough non-league loss. The Rams put 11 shots on goal, but weren’t able to score.

Tyngsboro 4, Oakmont 0 >> Riley Mitza continued her torrid scoring with a hat trick to fuel the Tigers to the Mid-Wach win.

Alexis Deschenes was another offensive force with a goal and three assists. Sadie Michalek and Addy Strong led the Tyngsboro (7-3) defense to its second straight shutout.

Bow 5, Pelham 0 >> Despite a 12-save performance from goalkeeper Hailey Davis, the Pythons dropped the NHIAA Div. 2 contest. Khloe Letourneau, Jessie Phillips and Kayli Milward played well for Pelham.

Littleton 4, Maynard 1 >> Locked in a scoreless tie at halftime, the Tigers began to roll when Sophie Meyers tallied an unassisted goal two minutes into the second half.

Alex Corey converted a penalty kick two minutes later for a 2-0 lead. After Maynard got on the board, Audrey Doyle scored from Amelia Taylor. Doyle then set up the final goal, a strike by Annabelle Caouette.

Ayer Shirley 5, Narragansett 0 >> Chandra Eli Johnson scored twice to fuel the Panthers to the Mid-Wach victory.

Also finding the back of the net for Ayer Shirley were Ariana Diaz, Angie Tracy and Sastea Cherduville. Lexi Carlson powered the defense in goal as she posted a nine-save shutout.

G-D 7, Shepherd Hill 0 >> Groton-Dunstable enjoyed its trip to Dudley and no one had more fun than Ava Buchmann.

The sharpshooter finished with four goals in the Mid-Wach win for the Crusaders (4-6). Also scoring in the easy win were Estella Johnston, Charlee Walzel and Livvie Salyer.

Dracut 3, Methuen 2 >> The Middies grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead and held on for an impressive MVC victory over Methuen (6-2-1).

Tewksbury 7, Lowell 1 >> The Redmen received a pair of early goals from Laila McFadden en route to a dominant MVC victory.

Chelmsford 1, Central 0 >> The host Lions scored in the first half and shut down Central Catholic from there during the narrow MVC conquest under the lights at Simonian Stadium.

Girls volleyball

Chelmsford 3, Tewksbury 0 >> The Lions took care of business by scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-9.

For host Tewksbury, Madison Shakes led the way with 21 digs. Liv Cueva compiled seven kills, while Julianna Cappiello added two kills.

Andover 3, Dracut 0 >> The Middies couldn’t make it two wins in two days as they dropped the MVC decision, 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.

ST 3, Mystic Valley 0 >> Senior Fiona Rexford collected nine kills to help keep Shawsheen Tech (11-0) undefeated.

Sophomore Hope DiDonato added five kills and three blocks in the 25-11, 25-23, 25-19 win. Junior Izzy Disalvo contributed six aces.

Boston Latin 3, WA 0 >> Westford Academy put up a strong fight in the third set, but came away with a shutout loss at Boston Latin, 25-19, 25-13, 26-24.

Collegiate Charter wins >> Collegiate Charter School of Lowell rolled to a 25-8, 25-19, 25-10 victory over Community Charter.

Shepherd Hill 3, NM 0 >> North Middlesex dropped a 25-10, 25-22, 25-16 clash in Townsend.

For the Patriots, Cora Boyle compiled five kills, Emma McCusker produced four kills and an ace, and Jess Allard was strong with six kills and two aces.

Innovation 3, Whittier 0 >> The Hawks captured the home victory in strong fashion, 25-19, 26-24, 25-20.

Earning player of the match honors was Kate Gilkie, who compiled four aces and eight digs as part of a strong defensive effort. Grace Calvagno produced nine kills and two blocks for Innovation Academy (4-8). Also starring were Belle Huynh (6 aces, 6 kills, 12 digs) and Melanie Bouzan (26 assists, 2 blocks, 6 kills).

GLT 3, Lowell Catholic 0 >> The Gryphons of Greater Lowell edged the Crusaders in a hard-fought 25-23, 25-23, 26-24 battle.

Lowell Catholic put up a major fight. Chloe Crogan was stellar from the outside and led the team in kills. Defensively, Mollie Miner and Molly McDermott were outstanding and Ellen McMahon also shined.

Dracut 3, North Andover 1 >> The Middies captured the MVC victory Monday by scores of 25-14, 24-26, 25-17, 25-20.

Zoe Clarke powered the win with 13 kills, six service points and eight digs. Leila Amiepoupouo claimed 10 kills, five aces and nine digs. Julia Graham contributed 29 assists and eight aces, while E’Annali Rodriguez added five kills, five service points and four blocks.

Minuteman 3, NT 0 >> Nashoba Tech fell to the Lexington school by scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Boys soccer

Nashoba 5, Sizer 0 >> Freshman Logan Cooper and senior captain Chase Archer both pocketed two goals to power the Vikings to their third win.

Freshman Liam Finley also found the back of the net. Axel Deleve, Cooper, Evan DiCicco and Tyler Baker had the assists. Keeper Eric Nicholson had four saves, including a great save on a penalty kick.

Lowell 4, Dracut 2 >> The Red Raiders surged to a 2-0 halftime lead and held off a determined Middies team to post the MVC win.

Alexander Garcia scored two goals, while Paul Pace and Cecil Caulker (assist) also tallied for Lowell. Ilembo Kiza had two assists. Ikaro Da Silva made four saves. Also starring for the Red Raiders were Ty Picanso (assist), Alexander Garcia and Victor Heleodoro.

For Dracut, junior forward Reda Tlateelalaoui scored both goals and senior Denzel Tema assisted on both. Dracut goalkeeper Noah Gililand made 11 saves. Also shining for the Middies were junior midfielder KJ Smith and junior defender Justin Fazio.

Billerica 2, Haverhill 1 >> Goals by Justin Bailat and Jack Carney lifted the Indians to a narrow MVC win. Picking up assists were Ryan Jacob and Jason Xintaropoulos. Riley Donovan earned the win in goal with three saves.

GLT 9, Lowell Catholic 0 >> Behind a balanced scoring attack, Greater Lowell Tech easily posted the CAC win.

The Gryphons (6-3-1) had seven different players score. Tallying two goals apiece were sophomores Jayden Flores and Danilo Silva. Also shining were freshman Isaac Brandes, sophomore JP Monterio and senior Kwasi Boateng. Patrick Winward and Marcos De Olivera earned the shutout in goal.

Littleton 1, Maynard 1 >> A goal by Tucker Murch allowed the Tigers to earn a Mid-Wach tie against Maynard.

Methuen 4, Tewksbury 0 >> The Redmen only trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Methuen ran away with the MVC contest with three second-half strikes.

Shawsheen 4, Lynn Tech 1 >> Senior Jack Bourque put on a show for the Rams, netting a hat trick in the CAC win, all the goals coming off long, well-aimed blasts.

Senior Ethan Melanson assisted on all three of the goals. Senior Jayden Perez provided the icing on the cake, scoring the fourth goal after a tremendous throw in from senior Jayson Dube. Senior keeper Kaleb Molina earned the victory in net. Also shining for Shawsheen were seniors Layne Coutu, Shaun Duhamel and Ollie Ferrer.

Tyngsboro 4, Oakmont 0 >> Goalkeeper Trevor Nogler produced another strong game for the Tigers, making five saves to record his fifth shutout of the fall.

Offensively, Tyngsboro received a two-goal effort from Logan Walsh. Also scoring for the Tigers (7-1-1) were Ryan Moro and Christian Reily.

Salem Academy 7, CCS 4 >> Collegiate Charter School of Lowell fell despite a two-goal performance from Johnny Borges. Joao Resende and Issac Ospina also scored goals.

Field hockey

G-D 2, Lunenburg 0 >> Groton-Dunstable earned a tough Mid-Wach victory as senior Annie Apigian posted a three-save shutout.

Senior Emma Hulslander tallied the first goal for the Crusaders, assisted by Cam Lesser. Lesser, a senior, pocketed the second goal.

Swimming

M/T 96, Haverhill 81 >> Methuen/Tewksbury captured a key MVC home win as the Red Rangers swept all three relays.

Alan Dang (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke) and Ethan Corthell (200 IM, 100 backstroke) each won two events. Sophia Cabral won the 500 freestyle and Isaac Gillespie captured the 50 for Methuen/Tewksbury.

Boys cross country

Crusaders sweep >> Groton-Dunstable (6-0) finished the regular season undefeated after defeating North Middlesex, 15-40, and Oakmont, 21-34.

G-D’s Grayson Duane ran to first place in 15:28 at Oakmont’s 2.7 mile course. Andrew Kosiba took second in 15:34, while also running strongly were Micah Pierantozzi (5th, 15:54), Evan Solger (6th, 16:46) and Alex Lampe (7th, 16:52).

North Middlesex’s top runner was Liam Maney in eighth (16:54).

Girls cross country

G-D sweeps >> Groton-Dunstable ran past North Middlesex, 15-45, and Oakmont, 18-41, to end the regular season 5-1.

Megan McEleney of the Crusaders captured the 2.7 mile race at Oakmont in 20:22. Hannah Mandell crossed in 20:32 to earn the runner-up spot. Finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, were Iris Lampe (20:51) and Claire Brown (23:32).

For North Middlesex, Mya Mitis placed eighth in 23:44.

Golf

Central 13.5, Billerica 6.5 >> Led by Harry Garland, one of the league’s top players, Central Catholic earned the MVC win at Atkinson RCC.

Garland fired an even par 36 to lift Central (11-1) and he won his match 3&2. Also winning for the Raiders were Jake Morowski (2 up), Dom Santo (2 up) and Finn Rourke (4&2). For Billerica, Michael Giordano claimed a 2&1 victory.

Lowell 13, Dracut 7 >> Matthew Casey and Shane Peters won all five points by winning their individual and four ball match for Lowell at Hickory Hill GC in Methuen.

Other individual winners for Lowell were Jack Gallagher (1up), Nate Dodge (3&2) and Marcus Novo (2 up). Brodie Anderson (Lowell) and Brendan modeski halved their match.

Dracut’s individual winners were Brayden Cheetham (3&2) and Chris Ravaris (1 up). Chris Tavares and Will Bicknell won their four ball for Dracut 2 up.

Lowell Cath. 129, Tyngsboro 110 >> Junior Matt Rossetti continued his fine play with 30 points to lead Lowell Catholic past the Tigers.

Also chipping in and scoring was eighth-grader Brogan Rourke with 26 points. Lucas Silva, Tommy McCormick and Evan Koes also scored for the Crusaders.

Ayer Shirley 31.5, Maynard 22.5 >> Tommy Bergin continued his outstanding fall with an impressive performance at Northern Spy in Townsend. Bergin sparked the Panthers (10-2) to the Mid-Wach win with a sparkling 2-under par 33.

North Middlesex 35, SH 19 >> The Patriots had no trouble hitting the road and shining at Dudley Hill Golf Club at Nichols College. Shawn Amari carded a 36 to lead North Middlesex (10-3).
