The Woodland Community Care Car recently added a new passenger van to its fleet to continue serving seniors and individuals over 55 years old. The new passenger van was made possible by the continued support of the Woodland and surrounding community from individual, business, and service club donations.
Community Care Car has been in operation since 1973, when local resident Jim Lawson recognized the need within the community for seniors to have access to daily transportation. Fifty-two years later, Jim Lawson’s vision continues with 120 volunteers, four passenger vans, and a full schedule of riders Monday through Friday.
Woodland Community Care Car is always seeking dedicated drivers and helpers to join the CCC team. The Board of Trustees anticipates adding a new passenger van in 2026. With continued support from the community, Jim Lawson’s legacy lives on.
