John Edmund Sack, Jr., of Novato, California, passed away inhis sleep on April 1st with his family by his side. John is now with his wife, Diane, whom he always spoke of with passion. They were married for 38 years, before her passing in 2019. John is survived by his son, Shawn, and daughter-in-law, Tami; his grandchildren Justine Sack and Janie (Elijah) Brown, great-grandchildren Natalie, Nora, and Teddy; siblings Sandy Joan Venable, Robert Sack and Gary (Yvette) Sack; nieces and nephews Johnna Jimenez, Deanna Crudo, Ryan Sack and Rachelle Sack-Copsey; and many great-nieces and nephews. John was born in San Diego and raised in Potter Valley, California. John loved the outdoors. He graduated from Shasta College and spent his working career at PG& E.

John moved to Novato in 1975 and married his love, Diane, in 1980. John adopted Diane’s son, Shawn, and became a proud father of a twelve-year-old. John was a great father to Shawn. He loved to garden with Diane; together they made their home a beautiful oasis for his family. John retired from PG& E after 42 years. His career afforded him the ability to go on world cruises and trips with Diane. He was an avid ocean fisherman and sports enthusiast. He also loved and cared for many household pets through his years. John was a family man who took great care of his mother, wife, children, and anyone who was lucky enough he considered to be his friend.

A Celebration of Life will be on May 31, 2025, noon to 3 p.m., at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Home, 650 Bugeia Ln. Novato, CA, 94945
