In the South Bay, Santa Clara will try to put the finishing stroke on a storybook season – following up its first section title with its first regional crown – but standing in its way at home today will be Menlo School.
Menlo survived a second trip to the Sacramento area in as many days, holding off Woodland Christian 15-11 in eight innings on Friday in a semifinal that was delayed Thursday because of darkness.
