Emmy-winning comedians and “Saturday Night Live” veterans Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will bring their “Restless Leg” tour to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, promoter Live Nation said Tuesday.
The 7 p.m. show on May 1 is the rare, double-billed comedy outing at the world-famous venue, which is better known for thumping dance-music, jam bands and pastoral folk-rock. Fey and Poehler in 2023 also visited Denver’s Bellco Theatre, which is noted for hosting stand-ups including Chris Rock, Iliza Shlesinger and Katt Williams.
Only a handful of double-billed comedy duos, however, have ever played Red Rocks — such as Steve Martin and Martin Short’s “The Dukes of Funnytown,” which visited June 14, 2024 — and that’s even if you count 2014’s Oddball Comedy and Curiosity Festival. That short-lived fest was packed with headliners such as Sarah Silverman, Whitney Cummings, Hannibal Burress and Aziz Ansari. (We’re not counting “Flight of the Conchords,” which was technically a duo but not billed as such.)
Typically, Red Rocks comedy shows include a single headliner such as Dave Chappelle or Bert Kreischer, though they also usually feature opening acts. This year’s comedy slate at Red Rocks currently has only one other booking, with Mat Rife’s June 19 show.
Tickets for Fey and Poehler’s May 1 “Restless Leg” stop at Red Rocks are on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, via axs.com. Prices are not currently available.
