SANTA CRUZ >> Rob Baker II and Brodric Thomas each scored 17 points, and G League United, a group of select G League stars and prospects, earned a victory in the first game in team history Wednesday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

G League United used a strong run in the fourth quarter to pull away from Serbian opponent BC Mega MIS for a 99-81 win in the first game of the 2024 NBA G League Fall Invitational.

G League United outscored its opponent 30-20 in the final stanza.

The teams will square off again in Santa Cruz on Friday night, before G League United heads to Singapore to compete in the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup.Baker was 8-of-12 shooting from the field, had five rebounds, and two steals, and Thomas was 6-of-8 shooting, had four rebounds, and two assists.

Taze Moore (15 points), Michael Foster Jr. (14 points), and Japanese rookie Keisei Tominaga (12 points) also reached double digits in scoring for G League United.

Tominaga impressed in his professional debut. He scored nine quick points in the first half and showcased his 3-point shooting range.

Former Santa Cruz and Golden State Warrior Juan Toscano-Anderson scored eight points and had six of G League United’s 20 assists.

Bosnian point guard Kosta Kondic had the biggest impact for BC Mega MIS. He led all scorers with 22 points and added five rebounds and two assists.

BC Mega MIS center Bogoljub Markovic, 19, showcased a smooth jumper for his 6-foot-11 frame. He was 7-of-12 from the field and finished with 18 points.
