TAMPA, Fla. >> Brandon Lowe and Junior Caminero hit fourth-inning home runs, and Drew Rasmussen allowed one hit in six innings to lead the Tampa Bay Rays over the Minnesota Twins 5-0 on Wednesday.

Lowe led off the fourth with his 11th home run. Caminero hit his 10th with Jonathan Aranda aboard.

Aranda added an RBI single and the Rays’ also scored on a balk. Lowe, Aranda and Caminero had two hits each. Chandler Simpson stole two bases for 16 this season.

Rasmussen (4-4) gave up a single to his former Oregon State teammate Trevor Larnach on the second pitch of the game. He also had a walk and a hit-by-pitch. He struck out five. Rasmussen won his third straight six-inning scoreless start. Edwin Uceta, Mason Montgomery and Connor Seabold completed the Rays’ fifth shutout this season.

The Rays finished their homestand 7-2.

Tigers 4, Giants 3 >> Justyn-Henry Malloy hit a go-ahead single in a four-run fifth inning to help the Detroit Tigers rally to beat the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on Wednesday.

The American League-leading Tigers swept the three-game series and closed their homestand with a four-game winning streak.

Detroit generated all of its offense in the fifth with Colt Keith’s two-run double and Malloy’s two-out, two-run single.

Brenan Hanifee (3-2) allowed one hit and struck out one in one inning. Tommy Kahnle picked up his seventh save after stranding two runners that he inherited with no outs in the eighth inning and pitching a perfect ninth.

Guardians 7, Dodgers 4 >> Angel Martínez hit a three-run, go-ahead homer and the Cleveland Guardians scored five times in the eighth inning to rally for a 7-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

The Dodgers built a 4-1 lead before Lou Trivino gave up an RBI single to Carlos Santana in the bottom of the seventh. Nolan Jones tied it in the eighth with a two-run single off Tanner Scott (0-1) and Martínez followed with his 394-foot blast off Alex Vesia.

Matt Festa (1-0) pitched the eighth and Emmanuel Clase worked a perfect ninth for his 11th save. The Guardians salvaged the third and final game of the interleague series.

White Sox 9, Mets 4 >> Andrew Benintendi had a season-high four RBIs and finished a double shy of the cycle Wednesday, powering the Chicago White Sox to a 9-4 win over the New York Mets that prevented a three-game sweep.

Benintendi laced a two-run single in the first inning and an RBI triple in the sixth before hitting his sixth homer in the eighth. Lenyn Sosa also had three hits and Mike Tauchman provided a two-run double for the White Sox, who avoided being swept for the seventh time this season.

Astros 5, Athletics 3 >> Zach Dezenzo homered and Victor Caratini drove in two runs in the seventh to help the Houston Astros rally for a 5-3 victory over the Athletics on Wednesday.

The Athletics led by 1 when rookie Justin Sterner (1-1) took over for Luis Severino to start the seventh. Dezenzo sent his fourth pitch 416 feet to center field for his second homer this season to tie it at 3-all.

There were runners on second and third with two outs in the inning when Caratini lined a single to center field to score 2 and put the Astros on top 5-3.

Pirates 10, Diamondbacks 1 >> Paul Skenes dominated in six-plus scoreless innings, O’Neil Cruz hit a two-run homer and the Pittsburgh Pirates rolled over the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-1 on Wednesday.

The Pirates rallied from down 6-2 with seven runs in the eighth inning to beat the Diamondbacks 9-6 on Tuesday night.

There was no need for a comeback with Skenes (4-5) on the mound.

Last year’s NL rookie of the year allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked none in 6 2/3 innings. Skenes has not allowed more than six hits in an MLB-record 35 starts to open his career.

Marlins 10, Padres 8 >> Agustín Ramírez had the first four-hit game of his career including a home run and a go-ahead two-run single as the Miami Marlins beat the San Diego Padres 10-8 on Wednesday.

Ramírez went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Eric Wagaman and Otto Lopez added three hits each with Lopez hitting a three-run homer. Javier Sanoja hit two doubles.

Cardinals 6, Orioles 4 >> Brendan Donovan hit a two-run homer, Masyn Winn had four hits and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 on Wednesday night at soggy Camden Yards.

St. Louis trailed 3-0 in the second inning and 4-2 in the fourth before coming back to win the deciding matchup of the three-game series.
