Three-time All-Pro pass rusher Khalil Mack is returning to the Los Angeles Chargers on a fully guaranteed $18 million, one-year deal, a person with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old Mack had 5 1/2 sacks last season. He has 113 in 12 seasons.

Mack, the 2016 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has made nine Pro Bowls, including three in his four seasons with the Chargers. Mack began his career with the Raiders and also played four seasons with the Bears.

Colts, Packers agree to trade: The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to trade Pro Bowl linebacker Zaire Franklin to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Colby Wooden, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed to The Associated Press.

Franklin, a multi-year team captain, has been one of the league’s top tacklers each of the past four seasons, setting single-season franchise records with 179 tackles in 2023 and an NFL-leading 173 tackles in 2024 — earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2024. The former Syracuse star also had 167 tackles in 2022, his first full season as a starter.

But he has only three interceptions and one fumble recovery in his eight-year NFL career.

Eagles, Davis agree to extension: Defensive tackle Jordan Davis and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed on a three-year, $78 million contract extension, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. The person, speaking on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn’t been announced, said the contract includes $65 million guaranteed.

Davis, a first-round pick in 2022, has been an integral part of Philadelphia’s defensive line and helped the Eagles dominate the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 to cap the 2024 season. A run-stuffer in the interior of the defensive line, Davis had a career-high 4 1/2 sacks last season with nine tackles for loss and six quarterback hits.

McGovern staying with Bills: Buffalo Bills center Connor McGovern is staying put after agreeing to a four-year contract, two people familiar with the deal confirmed to The Associated Press. ESPN.com first reported the news.

McGovern’s contract had expired and the 28-year-old was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent next week. He has six seasons of NFL experience, including the past three with Buffalo.

He spent the 2023 season as Buffalo’s starting left guard upon joining the team as a free agent following three years in Dallas. And McGovern made the switch to center the following year after Mitch Morse’s departure.

Rams’ Williams retiring: Cornerback Darious Williams is retiring after an eight-year NFL career that included a Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams placed Williams, who turns 33 later this month, on the reserve/retired list Saturday.

Williams played for Baltimore and Jacksonville along with his two stints in Los Angeles.

He began his career as an undrafted free agent who made the Ravens’ roster in 2018. The Rams claimed him off waivers later that year, and he eventually played his way into a starting job opposite Jalen Ramsey in Los Angeles’ secondary. Williams was a starter for the Rams’ championship team in the 2021 season, and he led the Rams with eight tackles in their Super Bowl victory over Cincinnati.
