Why did Joe Aurelio apologize for speaking the truth? The government has given people so many excuses not to work but instead take handouts. Why work when you can sit home and be a parasite on society.

I’d like tocomment on Mayor Lightfoot’s racist attitude and comments and I’d like to tell everybody else, including TV stations, I am not going to watch that racist on television or the advertisers as well. I’m going to turn off the television when she’s on. She is a racist if there ever was one.

Ted Slowik’s recent column on the hypocrisy of the new voting law restrictions hit the nail on the head. He quoted President Ronald Reagan who said in 1986 there would be no barrier between us and the voting booth. Unfortunately, Donald Trump and his demented minions have passed into law many of these barriers in their attempt to suppress and intimidate those who have a constitutional right to vote. Behind the masquerade of his presidency we have witnessed the slow deterioration of our democracy and the accelerated evolvement of fascism and racism that has slithered into our daily lives. Trump still has his knee firmly pressed on the necks of the Republican Party. They can’t breathe.

Carjackings are up this year to an alarming number. I find one good thing about us not having to wear masks anymore, the thugs, felons, bullies, criminals will no longer be able to hide behind their masks. And here’s a tip: If you see someone with a sweatshirt/hoodie on, and it’s 70, 80, 90 degrees out, assume they’re up to no good, because they usually are. And if you’re a law-abiding citizen that wears a hoodie as outlined above, you might want to rethink your wardrobe.
