Zhuric Phelps scored 19 points off the bench and No. 22 Texas A&M never trailed in a 83-72 home win over top-ranked Auburn on Tuesday night.

It’s the Aggies’ first-ever win over a team ranked No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll and ends a six-game winning streak for the Tigers, who clinched the Southeastern Conference title with a victory over Kentucky on Saturday.

Texas A&M (21-9, 10-7 SEC) denied Auburn (27-3, 15-2) an undefeated conference road record after the Tigers entered the game 9-0 in SEC road games this season.

The Aggies, who snapped a season-long four-game skid, led by double digits for most of the night and were up 12 with about two minutes to go before Tahaad Pettiford made a 3-pointer to get Auburn within 79-70. But Phelps made two free throws to extend the lead.

Pettiford led Auburn with 19 points, including six 3-pointers.

The Tigers were hurt by an off night from top scorer Johni Broome, who entered the game averaging 18.4 points but managed just eight. He left the game for a couple of minutes early in the first half with what appeared to be a shoulder injury but played 32 minutes despite the problem.

No.23 BYU 88, No. 10 Iowa State 85, 2OT: Richie Saunders scored 23 points and the visiting Cougars outlasted the Cyclones for their seventh consecutive victory.

Dallin Hall had 22 points off the bench for BYU (22-8, 13-6 Big 12), which recovered after blowing a 21-point lead.

Joshua Jefferson finished with 19 points for Iowa State (22-8, 12-7), and Milan Momcilovic had 18.

No. 16 Memphis 75, UTSA 70: Dain Dainja scored 19 points and the visiting Tigers clinched at least a share of the American Athletic Conference regular-season title.

Memphis — which won its first regular-season conference title since 2012-13, its final season in Conference USA — will be the No. 1 seed in the AAC tournament.

PJ Haggerty added 18 points, going 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the final 10 seconds for Memphis (25-5, 15-2).

Jonnivius Smith led UTSA (11-18, 5-12) with 18 points.

No. 18 Purdue 100, Rutgers 71: Fletcher Loyer and Braden Smith scored 23 points apiece to lead the host Boilermakers over the Scarlet Knights (14-16, 7-12 Big Ten).

Loyer and Smith each made seven 3-pointers as Purdue (21-9, 13-6) went 18 of 36 from beyond the arc. Trey Kaufman-Renn added 16 points for the Boilermakers, who have won two in a row following a four-game skid.

No. 19 Kentucky 95, LSU 64: Otega Oweh scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting to lead the Wildcats at home against the Tigers (14-16, 3-14 SEC).

Ansley Almonor and Brandon Garrison added 15 points each for Kentucky (20-10, 9-8).

Texas 87, No. 25 Mississippi State 82, OT: Tramon Mark had 24 points and Tre Johnson scored 23 to lead the Longhorns to a road win over the Bulldogs.

Mark and Arthur Kaluma both hit two free throws in the final 21 seconds of overtime to secure the win.

Mark and Johnson were a combined 10 of 15 from 3-point range for Texas (17-13, 6-11 SEC).

Josh Hubbard scored all 16 of his points in the second half to lead Mississippi State (20-10, 8-9).
