Spring is the season of growth, renewal, and opportunity. For WJUSD, this is also a time when our students showcase their talents, our schools open their doors to families, and we celebrate learning in action.

Education is a community partnership, and we are grateful for the support of our families and our entire community in creating enriching experiences for our students.

As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we invite you to join us for a variety of events that highlight student achievement, provide new opportunities, and strengthen our connection as a community.

Here’s what’s happening at WJUSD:

New Career Technical Education Courses at Woodland Adult Education

We are excited to expand career opportunities for our community through new Career Technical Education (CTE) courses at Woodland Adult Education.

Culinary Basics: This introductory course provides hands-on training in professional cooking techniques. Students earn their Food Handlers card and gain valuable experience through weekly cooking labs.

Dental Assistant & Medical Assistant: These programs equip students with the skills needed for careers in the growing healthcare field.

Open Houses

Spring provides opportunities to see firsthand the incredible work of our students and educators. Open houses across our schools allow families to visit classrooms, meet teachers, and explore student projects. Contact your local school for day and time or visit the school website.

End-of-the-Year “Festival of Music” Concerts

At the end of the school year, music teachers across our District bring students together to perform “Festival of Music” concerts and showcase the dedication and passion of our students. We encourage families to attend and celebrate the power of music in our schools. Tuesday, May 20, 6 — 7:30 p.m., at Pioneer High School, and Wednesday, May 21, 6 — 7:30 p.m. at Pioneer High School.

Volunteer for “Cool Schools” Tree-Plantings

As part of our ongoing “Cool Schools” projects, Beamer and Freeman elementary schools will hold tree-planting events with the Woodland Tree Foundation at their school sites. Volunteers are invited to attend. Beamer event: Saturday, April 12, 8:30 a.m. — 1 p.m. Freeman event: Saturday, April 26, 8:30 a.m. — 1 p.m.

Multilingual Ceremony Celebration

We will hold our annual Reclassification, Biliteracy Pathway, and State Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony on April 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Woodland High School football stadium.

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our students, staff, and community with you.
