After being shutout in three consecutive games, the football program at Boulder High School got back in the win column in Week 6.
Myles Robbins ran for a long TD and Andre Drapeau put in the go-ahead score from a yard away in the third quarter as the Panthers beat Lakewood 14-13 in their Class 5A Metro North League opener on Friday.
Teams from the Boulder, Broomfield and Longmont areas went a combined 6-9 through Friday night.
Meanwhile, Colorado Preps Media poll 5A No. 7 Fairview was home against Prairie View on Saturday afternoon. Monarch had a bye.
Friday
Erie 49, Rangeview 6: The Tigers (4-2, 1-0 5A Front Range South) got a passing touchdown and another two scores on the ground from quarterback Ronin Ward as they won their third straight game.
Braylon Toliver added rushing TDs of 25 and 47 yards in the win.
Erie is at Vista PEAK Prep next Friday.
Broomfield 59, Longmont 0: The Eagles jumped out to a 52-0 lead at halftime, sending a resounding response to the rest of the 4A classification after their 13-3 loss to Erie in Week 5.
In the win, 4A No. 6 Broomfield (5-1, 1-0 4A North 2) held the Trojans (1-5, 0-1) to just 99 yards of total offense.
Broomfield is at Adams City on Thursday. Longmont is at Riverdale Ridge next Friday.
Frederick 41, Loveland 7: After throwing for six first-half touchdowns in a win over Thornton last week, quarterback Gavin Ishmael threw for two scores and ran for three in a fourth straight win for the Golden Eagles (4-2, 1-0 4A North 1).
Over his past three games, Ishmael has 13 passing TDs and four more on the ground. He’s totaled 24 TDs this season.
Sonny Delpizzo added a receiving and rushing score in the win for Frederick, which hosts Silver Creek on Thursday.
Boulder 14, Lakewood 13: The Panthers (2-4, 1-0 5A Metro North) have won two games in a season for the first time since 2021 when they finished 4-6 under one-and-done coach Craig Van Patten.
Boulder is at Mountain Range on Thursday. Last year, the Mustangs beat the Panthers 14-7.
Mead 22, Holy Family 15: Noah Vroman’s long TD reception put Mead (5-0) ahead of Holy Family (2-3) for good with 3:49 remaining as the Mavericks remained undefeated.
The win was Mead’s fifth straight over the Tigers dating back to 2017.
Mead is at Timnath on Thursday, while Holy Family is at Littleton.
Cheyenne Mountain 26, Centaurus 23: The Red-Tailed Hawks rallied for 13 straight points late in the fourth quarter, handing the Warriors (3-3, 0-1 4A I-25 League) their third straight loss.
Tysen Burton caught and ran for a TD in the second half to put Centaurus up 23-13 before Cheyenne Mountain rallied.
The Warriors are home against Gateway next Friday.
Fossil Ridge 34, Legacy 10: Tyler Anderson ran for his sixth touchdown of the season in the loss.
Anderson finished with 66 yards on 17 carries for Legacy (2-4), while Andrew Gardner threw for 200 yards.
The Lightning are at Mullen next Friday.
Forge Christian 48, Prospect Ridge 6: Prospect Ridge’s longest winning streak on record — three games — was snapped.
The Miners (3-3, 0-1 1A Frontier) fell to 0-4 against Forge Christian since 2021. They’re home against Platte Canyon next Saturday.
Belleview Christian 42, Justice 12: The Phoenix (0-5, 0-1 A-8 Central) trailed 30-0 at the half.
They are home against Lyons next Saturday.
Riverdale Ridge 49, Skyline 0: The Falcons (0-6, 0-1 4A North 2) were shut out for the first time this season.
They’re home against Grand Junction Central on Thursday.
Thursday
Silver Creek 42, Greeley West 8: It wasn’t clear if Nolan Gaccetta had two or three rushing scores in the fourth quarter for Silver Creek (4-2, 1-0 4A North 1).
Either way, the Raptors are rolling. They can claim their most wins in a season since 2019 with a win over Frederick on Thursday.
Evergreen 50, Niwot 0: Niwot (0-5) threw six interceptions in the loss.
The Cougars are home against Windsor on Thursday.
Front Range Christian 12, Lyons 8: The 20 total points are the fewest in 13 meetings dating back to 2006.
Lyons (0-5, 0-1 A-8 Central) is at Justice on Saturday.
