Fetishizing the U.S. flag is just weird. Stop it. Before you say that putting up a flag as big as a small house isn’t fetishism, what then is it? Did you put up a huge flag so people wouldn’t forget what country they were in? Did you think people maybe didn’t know Crown Point is in the U.S.? Or maybe you think it’s a way to show national pride. It is not. I bet that ridiculous flag pole and flag cost the same as a lot of meals and school books. That thing is hideous and stupid.

If you were on the Board of Directors of a big corporation, would you vote to hire a mentally unstable liar to lead the company? Wouldn’t that be certain disaster? Wouldn’t you be guilty of negligence for hiring a person unfit for the job? America is the most complex country on earth. We need the best and brightest to lead us, or we’ll fail. We, the voters, are America’s Board of Directors. We choose who can best run this complex country. So why are so many of you voting for liars, cheaters, and hate spewing wackos who who have lost touch with reality? Do you seriously think they will lead America wisely? Seriously? Then why do you vote for them?

Seriously, did Jerry Davich really write “I fell for a doomed barfly who was dolled up like a young vixen at closing time. Shame on me” in regard to the CNN+ fiasco? Yes, shame on you Jerry for using such a sexist and antiquated expression. I am sure you weren’t referring to a “dolled up” female fox. I thought maybe I was reading a column from the 1950s ...

The January 6th Committee has evidence that Donald Trump was told that his seditious plans were illegal. He was told that they would likely lead to violence on January 6th. But he and his allies deliberately went ahead with those crimes. These willful, predictably destructive crimes, committed by Trump himself, against the United States, must be prosecuted by the Department of Justice. When people say that a president has never been charged or prosecuted before, we have never had a president that tried to destroy his own country before.

Republicans want ordinary folks to just forget how they’ve done nothing but coddle and befriend big business and the wealthy. So they’re ginning up outrage over every social issue they can think of. I’d like to say that the American people are too smart to be so easily fooled, but sadly, they’re not. Take, for instance, how a substantial number of Republican rank and file (40%, according to a YouGov poll) are convinced that Democratic leaders are guilty of pedophilia and sex trafficking. These are the mindless voters who are quite possibly going to turn the House and the Senate back over to Republicans in November. How can we survive as a nation with such incredible ignorance?

That video of Putin meeting with his defense minister pretty clearly shows that he’s suffering and in pain. Good. Let’s hope it’s something serious.

Since Twitter just got a new owner, we can enjoy both sides of the story unlike the Quickly column where lies are a dime a dozen and you only get a Democratic view no matter if it’s true or false. No wonder these billionaire liberals that own news papers are freaking out. Biggest hypocrites on the planet just like quickly.

Why does Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita think that he is King of the World? He thinks that his position in Indiana gives him the right to police the entire country. His job is in Indiana and only for his term. It should be illegal to be campaigning for a future job while we are paying his salary.

For the coach that has the case before the Supreme Court who wants to pray at the 50 yard line, I suggest he read Matthew 6:5-6 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by men ... But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Rick Perry denied sending messages to Mark Meadows about overturning the elections, but they came from his cell phone and they were signed Rick Perry. Everyone that Trump hired seemed to have a common thread — they were not very bright. Not only did Trump like the poorly educated, but he also hired them to run our damn government into the ground.

The Republican party is in disarray. The party must soon make a decision regarding the former guy. Prominent Republicans should call a meeting and make a decision to dump the guy. Yes, there will be turmoil in the party for a few days, or even months. Nevertheless, the benefits down the road will outweigh the liabilities. When we revisit history, we find that America and the world have always survived autocratic and narcissistic characters like Trump. One such individual was former president Richard Nixon. The Republican party forced him to resign under the threat of impeachment and the party was actually praised for doing the right thing. Trump is bullying the Republican party. The best way to handle a bully is to remind him that you have a brother that plays linebacker on the football team. Ranking Republican senators and representatives could serve as linebackers. Have that meeting. Send a letter saying we are taking our party back. Be prepared for the screaming and hollering from the ‘dysfunctionals.’ I believe the dissenters will be short lived. America will breathe a sigh of relief.
