ARGENTINA: In November, Cupertino resident Keith Moe and San Jose’s Olga DeTorres traveled to Argentina and visited Iguazu Falls, both on the Argentine and Brazilian sides. Buy your tickets ahead of time, Keith says.

TRAVEL TIPS: “If you travel by air to Iguazu Falls, don’t use a super-discount airline, lest you find your flight canceled at the last moment,” Keith says. “If you take the boat ride, you get very wet. Wear whatever you don’t need to keep dry. You are given a dry bag to keep shoes, socks and electronics (camera, phone, etc.) in. USE IT! Also, bring a pair of flip-flops to wear back up the steps to where you can put your shoes and socks back on.”

Getting across the border between Brazil and Argentina is fairly easy, as long as you go early in the day. “If you hit the Argentina immigration station after 4 p.m. or so, there is likely to be a multi-hour delay, even if you are with a tour group.”
