The Detroit Tigers will be well-represented in the 2025 Futures Game.

The Tigers will have three players — catcher/first baseman Josue Briceño, shortstop Kevin McGonigle and outfielder Max Clark — in the showcase that displays some of the game’s top prospects, tied with the Seattle Mariners for most among all organizations.

Rosters were unveiled Monday. The game is Saturday, July 12, at Truist Park in Atlanta.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Briceño, 20, has had a breakout season after injuries shortened his 2024, clubbing 14 homes runs and compiling a .995 OPS for Single-A West Michigan. Included was a monster game on May 29 when he walloped three home runs and stole home in a 14-1 rout of Dayton.

It continues momentum that started building in the Arizona Fall League, where Briceño earned Most Valuable Player honors and the circuit’s first Triple Crown, mashing to the tune of .433/.509/.867/1.376, with 10 home runs over 25 games.

Clark and McGonigle where selected by the Tigers with their first two picks in the 2023 MLB Draft, and have quickly emerged as two of the game’s top prospects, also at West Michigan. McGonigle is ranked No. 9 overall by Baseball America, and Clark is No. 16. MLB Pipeline has Clark at No. 7, and McGonigle at No. 21.

Clark, selected No. 3 overall in 2023, entered Monday hitting .276 for the Whitecaps, with six home runs, 12 stolen bases and an .836 OPS. The 20-year-old has more walks (61) than strikeouts (51).

After an ankle injury delayed the start of his season, McGonigle has hit a combined .357 in 37 games this season, mostly spent at West Michigan. He’s hitting .373 with a 1.135 OPS for the Whitecaps, developing into what Baseball America calls “one of the minor leagues’ purest hitters” after he was drafted No. 37 overall in 2023.
