Wooden planks fall from semi on I-25 Wednesday morning causing crash
Northbound lanes of I-25 were closed Wednesday morning after a semi-truck lost its load of wooden planks, causing a crash.
The Colorado State Patrol responded at about 5:20 a.m. to the crash north of Colo. 52 on I-25, according to a press release.
The debris from the crash caused law enforcement to shut down northbound lanes of I-25 north of Colo. 52 for cleanup. The road reopened at 6:48 a.m., according to the release.
An officer estimated that between 20 and 30 drivers struck the debris.
Any drivers who have not yet contacted law enforcement are asked to call CSP dispatch at 970-239-2501 and reference case no. 3A250099.

Coffee with council scheduled for Saturday
The first coffee with council of the new year is slated for 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Lashley Street Station, 1200 Lashley St.
Residents are invited to have a cup of coffee and talk with two people on the City Council. Mayor Joan Peck and Councilmember Shiquita Yarbrough are expected to attend Saturday’s event.
TinkerMill Repair Café to be held monthly
The TinkerMill Repair Café, where members fix people’s broken items for free, is expected to happen from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month, starting this Saturday.
TinkerMill members at the free Repair Café can fix a range of items, including clothing, electronics, small appliances and toys.
TinkerMill members say there is no guarantee they can fix your item, but they will work on any item brought to them.
The makerspace is at 1840 Delaware Place, Unit A.

Commissioners set to discuss homelessness
County commissioners are set to host an online meeting next week about homelessness solutions, as growing numbers of residents are using emergency assistance services.
The event is open to the public and will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday on Zoom, an online videoconferencing software. During the event, community members can listen to a presentation and ask questions.
Residents can register for the event at boco.org/BOCCTown Hall.
There will be Spanish interpretation available.
