Talal Janbay passed away peacefully at his home in Boulder Creek, Ca. surrounded by loved ones. Throughout his life, Talal took solace in walks by the ocean and discovering new and exciting places traveling the world. Settling here from Beirut in 1972, he began working as a bus-boy at Scopazzi’s restaurant where in 1986, in partnership with Chef Paul Violante, they purchased the restaurant and saw it through a successful historical 100yr anniversary. Few people realize the depth of Talal’s generosity. Monetary support of his struggling family in Lebanon, humanitarian fundraising for Doctors Without Borders, coaching youth sports, helping his brother and nephew come to America, donating and hosting various huge events and fundraisers at Scopazzi’s and so much more than can be mentioned.

The community will remember Talal as a kind, private gentleman able to make you smile with his subtle humor.

He is survived by his brother Henny and sisters Manar, Najah and Hiam Janbay. Children: Leila and Bryan (wife Erica) Janbay. Grandchildren: Celeste Lowell, Annah Dowling, Jasmine Janbay, Isaac Janbay, Olive Janbay and nephew Ihab Janbay.
