On Saturday morning, with the sounds of bagpipes and general hustle and bustle filling the air as the NorCal Celtic Festival was underway a few blocks over on Main Street, dozens of vehicles descended upon the Woodland Public Library at 250 First St., for this year’s Read, Rumble, and Rev event.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a Woodland Fire Department fire truck, city buses, Yolo County’s “BeeLine” bus, various Woodland Police Department vehicles, various city of Woodland utility vehicles, and dozens of others opened up their doors and horns to all those in attendance.
According to a city press release, the event gives local children and adults a chance to learn about the vehicles and industries in their community. Read, Rumble, and Rev is different than a car show — kids can interact not only with trucks and vehicles, but with the folks that drive and operate them. They can hear the sirens, watch the tractor bucket move and more.
The library’s bookmobile was in attendance, along with the library’s Teen Advisory Board members giving out free books to children in attendance as well as information on upcoming library programs.
